Tualatin, OR 97062, USA
Objective
My goal is to build my client base, particularly with businesses (local /nationwide) who need custom solutions for web & print, and prefer the individual attention they receive from a “hands on” designer, rather than corporate project manager. I particularly enjoy being the trusted source for clients who return again later because I “know what they want” and will deliver just the new product they need—on time and well done.
Experience
Independent Contractor, 1992 to present: responsible for developing logo/identity for new businesses, designing newspaper ads & signage, illustration for booklet & magazine covers, and editing/producing a monthly 8-page newsletter. Additionally, I regularly work on direct mail, booklets, invitations and posters. In recent years, web design has become a major portion of my workload where I maintain W3C standards, working with XHTML/CSS and Flash. No two projects are alike and all are treated with individual attention—without templates.
Clients include: Oregon Health & Sciences University (OR), Casey Eye Institute (OR), MyRuckus (OR), The City of Tualatin (OR), Midpen Properties (CA), Patrick J. Murphy Assoc. (PA), Class Act Events (OR), Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools (OR), Young’s Ice Cream & Candy Bar (CA), Espresso Lane (CA), The Garden Corner (OR), Barbarino’s Salon (OR).

Design Consultant, Hewitt Associates, Lincolnshire, IL 1985-1989: responsible for design, illustration, and production of slide presentations and design/storyboarding for video & interactive presentations. This position originated with me as the lone operator in greater Chicago of a high-end computer graphics imaging system (Via Video) for slidemaking and illustration. Part of Hewitt Associates’ contract was to serve as a beta test site for Via Video Systems, while producing slide presentations on a demanding corporate schedule. Besides initiating Hewitt Associates into the world of computer-generated graphics, I was responsible for traditional media design, production, and illustration in print, employee training, and computer file management.Clients included many Fortune 500 companies.
Production Artist, O’Connor/Roe, Inc., Chicago, IL 1981-1985: responsible for print production, specializing in ad & catalog work for many of Chicago’s largest ad agencies.
