Objective

Seeking a position where my creative talents can be utilized to their fullest.


Qualifications

LOGO-IDENTITY: I have a special knack for developing logos and brands. I can see what the company or individual needs and then relay that insight into a finished design. Slogans are also one of my specialties - I can envision a tag line or slogan to match the brand and the essence of what the company or individual is about.

CHARACTERS: I started drawing characters when I was young, inspired by the comics of Charles Schultz and Walt Kelly. I developed my own comic strip called Little Chicago in which life revolved around a group of critters who lived in a park in the middle of Chicago. The comic never went anywhere, but this experience helped me to draw my own characters for clients later on.

ILLUSTRATION: I learned about illustrating while working as a technical illustrator for a couple years. The technical drawings were limiting as they had no personality. So when I started drawing my own illustrations later for web and product designs I gave them their own unique character. The technical aspects of a product are fine, but once you infuse the design with personality it becomes more memorable.

Web layout, logo design, and illustration. Experience with Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, and some HTML and CSS.

Graphic Design
Yellow Art Company, Grand Haven, MI 1979-1987
Designed Yellow Page ads on MacIntosh computers using PageMaker, MS Word, Corel Draw. Experience with printing finished ads in multi-color separations on Xerox equipment; cut and paste of final ad; produce output of fifty ads per day for phone books all over the country.
